MORE BAD NEWS

Sharon Covington's oldest brother, David, was killed in a car accident Thursday night.

His obituary is in the Quad City Times today. I believe it will also be in the CR Gazette and Anamosa paper later in the week.

Obviously, her entire family is in shock right now. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

(Thanks to Diane Norton for the info...)

THE FAIR, CHICAGO, BEER TENT, ETC.
I trekked up to Monticello last night for a rip-snorting good time at the fair. The band, Chicago, performed and the median age at the concert was, oh, say, about 44?!?
Anywho, I ran into tons of people we know and snapped the following pics of some of them.
I also saw Mark Jones and Jim Ahrendsen and lots of people from the classes of 1980 and 1982. I heard rumors that Scott Ehlts and Kelly & Milt were there, but I never saw them. I had the camera all ready. Funny thing, tho....I heard lots of comments like, "Oh, jeezus, we're going to end up on the blog tomorrow, aren't we?"
Enjoy the photos and if y'all have any of your own from the fair, please send and share. We're talking about a county fair in Iowa, for God's sake. Y'all have to have some cow, pig, or goat pictures for me, don't ya!?!
TONY'S ARMPIT CANDY...

SHE TOOK THE PLUNGE
Hi, Carron,

So sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you! It has been a busy summer so far...working around the house and all. Sorry I missed Tony's B-day party, looks like you all had fun. I haven't seen Colleen Gilbert in years....the people you run into when you're out and about amazes me!

Kinda ironic about Darcie's cousin. I have a good friend whose husband was really close to him, so I heard about it that way. What a scary thing going on with the deer around here and vehicles. So sorry to hear about that.

Yes, I am married now....we went to the JP and I would do that again if I had to. Wow so easy and after having a wedding I would recomend that to a wedding any day. $35 and your married.....well another $100 just because we decided to use a chapel rather than go in court and get 'er done! LOL

So have you and Tony set a date yet or just enjoying the engagement for a while? You two look so cute together. And you seem like you have a lot of fun.

Well, have lots on my to do list today, so I guess I better get at it. Take care and hope to see you some time soon.

Mary Jo
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TOM!

MORE BAD NEWS.... :-(

Hi, Carron,

I just heard that Debbie (Noe) Carson's daughter died last night in a car accident. Carla (Etten) Null phoned me. Debbie's husband, Mike Carson, is Carla's cousin. I heard that Deb's daughter was a backseat passenger without a seatbelt on, and was ejected from the car when they swerved to miss some deer.

Just needed to tell someone. Debbie was a very good friend of my sister, Tammy.

Sad.

SPEAKING OF BEING

HOME IN AUGUST...
Carron,
Thanks for the pictures. I don't have access to the blog.
We moved into transient housing on Saturday. There are 60 of us in this not-so-large building. Alarm clocks went off at 0130 and 0330 this morning. As soon as we figure out who is responsible, we are going to have a little talk.
It won't be long now. My replacement has arrived. We have to get them trained and after that we are out of here.
See you soon.
Scott
SHARON WILL BE HOME IN AUGUST

Carron,

I am planning to come home for Scott's party in August. I think Dann has opted to stay home with the kids...I think us wild girls scare him in his old age!!!! Fine with me!

Hey, have a great time at Tony's birthday party!!!

Charlie is starting to walk all over now.. It is sooo funny to see. Brings tears to my eyes!! He will be one on the 25th, so I guess it is time! Rachel is doing good, sassy as ever! I will send you some new pictures. '

See you in August!
Sharon

IT WON'T BE LONG

Carron,

As they say in the military, we are getting very short. My replacement will be here in just a few days and then the end will be in sight. I have a lot to do before we go, but get it done or not, we are out of here in just a few weeks. Can't wait to see everyone next month.

Take care.

TYPICAL SMALL TOWN PARADE

Ely had the typical small town 4th of July parade. Lots of fire trucks, kiddie cars, veterans, flags, and tons and tons of horse poo-poo! I know y'all have pictures of your holiday. Send and share!!!

A GOOD COUPLE DAYS FOR TONY
Tony got an early birthday gift from the future in-laws AND he won the cool glider/rocking chair in a raffle at the Ely Firemen's Breakfast that he, Ellyn, and the boyfriend, Josh, are sitting on. Lucky bastard. He should have bought me a lottery ticket. I want to retire, too.

On Saturday, July 7, we are having a little birthday gathering for Tony at the Chrome Horse in Cedar Rapids. Come share some birthday cheer with us!!! The festivities will begin around 6:30 p.m.

~ HAPPY 4th OF JULY ~

I BEAT HIM
Really. I did.
Bahahaha!!
Too much heat and too many beverages make me delirious.

SHE TOLD US TO BE NICE

After a hot 27 holes of golf, we enter the club house for a cold beverage. Hmmm, wouldn't a keg be nice right now? I digress. On the TV above the bar, CNN is airing the story about Scooter Libby's sentence being commuted. And, who should walk in?? LIBBY!!!! Coincidence? I think not.

After several futile attempts to dodge my camera, she agreed to have her picture taken as long as we didn't mention her stint in rehab (didn't work), her recent firing, and the whole jail debacle. Poor thing's a wreck.

JUST KIDDING, PEOPLE!

Libby is doing well, she is as beautiful as ever, and she has the cutest daughter on the planet!

GUESS WHO ELSE WE SAW?
(Here's a hint...) It's Kegs!

KENT'S DADDY

Father's Day - the late edition! Tony and I just keep running into people wherever we go...this time it was the Reynolds padre.

KENNY'S A HOTTIE!!

The Kenny Chesney concert was AWESOME! One of Lance's friends got
tickets for his wife for her birthday. Their seats were farther
back, so the guys let Kandi and I have the close seats....What a
blast!
