BRAD SCHOON BENEFIT IN TWO WEEKS
I will be going to Geneseo, IL, on October 6th to give to Brad Schoon and his family the money raised from the class of 1981. There is still time to make a donation, if you'd like. People have been making their checks out to me and then I will write out one big one.
Mike Deutmeyer told me that he has donated some stone benches and a memorial stone-type thing. Pretty cool of him to do that.
Please give if you can.

SAD NEWS ABOUT BRAD SCHOON

(This is an e-mail from Dick and Tammy (Vernon) Dearborn who live in the same town as Brad Schoon and his family. Click on the link to the newspaper to read an article written by Brad's daughter, Lindsay. Click on the title of the article Geneseo teacher battles Lou Gehrig's to read the whole thing. Then, say a prayer. Then, write to Todd and give him your best wishes: todd.schoon@gmail.com. If you want to contribute as a class, I would be more than willing to act as the coordinator and we can send the money in all at once. Let me know your thoughts. Leave a comment or e-mail me at CarronBungum@yahoo.com.)

Everyone,

As you have all probably heard by now, Brad Schoon has been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease. His oldest daughter, Lindsay, wrote the following article that is on the front page of our local Geneseo paper:
http://www.geneseorepublic.com/

We got to know Brad and his family here in Geneseo. Brad coached Renee in freshman basketball and Renee also played high school softball with Brad's younger daughter, Sara. Brad and Renada worked with us in some softball fund raisers. Like the article suggests, Brad is a very "down to earth" kind of guy.

The article also mentions some fund raisers that are being held to benefit Brad and his family. A golf tournament is going to be held here in Geneseo on Oct 6th. We will not be able to go because Renee is playing ball that day in Chicago, but Tammy and I have decided to sponsor 2 holes. One hole will be from "The Dearborn Families", and the second is from "Anamosa High School Alumni".

We are not asking anybody to go in on this with us, but rather, if you like, you could add to it in some way.

Feel free to spread the word to others in Anamosa. Others may want to help.

KEGS AT THE CLUB
Kegs was out golfing, too.
If you look closely at the chalkboard behind Brian, you will see that our very own Patty Frasher won the club championship - AGAIN!
HACKING & HAWKEYES
Friday was a day of golf followed by a day of tailgating and the game on Saturday.
My bro, Brad, was home from Denmark for the festivities!

OH, SAY CAN YOU SEE

A couple of weeks ago, Susie (16) was given the opportunity to sing the National Anthem (a capella) at the local Sky Sox's game (AAA ball) here in Colorado Springs! Not to be a biased parent; however, by the reaction of the crowd, she hit a home run!!
Ciao,
Mike

CLASS OF 1981

PARENTS

REUNION

While out golfing yesterday with pops, we ran into several classmates' parents. Heck, we could have had a Class of 1981 Parents mini reunion.

We saw Kent's daddy, Kegs' poppa, Erin's momma, Maribeth's padre, and Pete.

I had my camera, but I never could gather them all up for one big photo. Here are some past photos of Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Terrell, and Mr. Bungum. Erin is a clone of her mom and Kegs is the spittin' image of his dad, so just use your imaginations.
