Hello, y'all!!
*Below is an e-mail from Eric Collins. Oh, gosh, can you imagine his horror when he opened his e-mail after a MONTH and saw all the updates and e-mails from classmates? How funny is that?? I am attaching a picture of Eric and his beautiful family. It was scanned on my home scanner, so it is not the best, but I have had a lot of people ask about Eric, so I wanted to include the photo he sent me with his reunion information. He and his wife are expecting their fourth child soon!!
*It was a slow news day. That's all I have. I did exchange a few e-mails with Maribeth, but nothing so important it requires posting.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Take care ~
Carron

Carron,
Hey. I haven't been online in about a month - once school starts time flys.
I jumped on here tonight as I was looking for an update for a math program - checked email and wow - I've got for pages of stuff to catch up on - I see onin the list from Brian - will try to get to that soon.
I did get in touch with Scott over in Iraq - also forwarded his address to my sister - Scott worked with for several years at United Fire and Casualty in CR - her and several others there wanted to email him.
I will try to get some picts to you - I don't have a scanner so will have toget with a friend. Can't do so this weekend - have two tests to grade and adumb bulletin board to put up - oh, I have to make it first too. I have not had to do bulletin boards in years but am being video taped (geometry) for home schoolers to use - so I have to contribute to the room visuals - I have to do one bulletin board a month so at least I have time to get it ready.
I'm also going on a class outing with the junior class Friday evening for a few hours - they'll do football, and a bunch of kid stuff followed by sandwiches, chips, soft drinks, and dessert treats.
I'm not taking a class for my lates degree this fall so that is why I'm not online much - I'll try to work through your emails over then next week or two if I can now that I know they are there.
Gotta go - I was supposed to go kiss the boys goodnight but I think they may have already dozed off - if Ty (5) is still awake he will want me to snuggle with him for a while.
See ya,
Eric

Hello Carron:
Thanks for writing. We are doing just fine. I have received e-mails from so many classmates. It has been great. Of course Tom H. sent a drinking photo or two. He often forgets that I have access to automatic weapons. The photos are great. I visit the blog almost daily. I still haven't posted anything, but I promise I will eventually give it a shot.
I hope all is well there. It sounds like the Pumpkin Fest is going to be a great time. I am sending a photo of me and some of my companions in front of our Battalion signs. I am the one right in the center. As you can see, I am not the oldest one over here. There are one or two with a few years on me.
The temperature here is now just under a 100 degrees most days. Fall is in the air. The rainy season is right around the corner. Ramadan starts this week. That means more mortars and sniper fire. Those wacky Muslims know how to party.
Take care and keep the e-mails coming.

Carron,

Well, this week was easier than last.

I'm actually home for an evening...and will be home tomorrow evening as well.

Tomorrow I have an eye appointment, a massage, a chiropractor appointment, a short computer training at work, and then will spend the evening at home. The dogs won't know how to behave.

I have to go back to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, then back to Colby on Tuesday and Wednesday, back to work Wednesday and Thursday nights, then off to Grand Junction for three days to romp on my hubby for a while. November and December aren't so bad. I have a BUNCH of paid time off and holiday hours that I have to take or I will lose, so I'll get to take it a little easier.

Unfortunately, January-March are hell on wheels. I have eight weeks where I will need to be in class Tuesday and Wednesday, then at clinicals Thursday and Friday,,,,,and somehow try to work Saturdays and Sundays. Unfortunately, I can't carry my time off over into the new year, so I will have to borrow time off. My boss insists it won't be a problem...but we'll have to get special permission from the Warden.

Lance just keeps reminding me that it will be over in the spring.............if I live that long. We promised each other an Alaskan cruise when I get finished with school, and I'm pretty sure we're going to seriously need it by then. Eating good food, sleeping when we want, and a whole lotta hanky panky goin' on...... :-)

Keep posting the pics. I love looking at them!

Deb

Happy Wednesday, everyone!
Lisa Toner Kintzle called me tonight and we chatted for over an hour. She is such a rip!!
She also provided me with Jean Reiter's address and her business website ~

Diane Norton's son, Ryan Boyer!!

Carron,
I DID have a most fabulous weekend. Steve and I went to a Fall Festival in Northern Wisconsin on Saturday and had lots of fun!! I am really tired today, but it was totally worth it!! I promise I will start looking at my old pictures and get some off to you. For now, you can post Ryan's picture if you want. Talk to ya later!!
HAPPY MONDAY!
- Di
Ask and ye shall receive. Attached is a recent photo of my family. The kids are Mac, Finn, Georgia, and Piper. As you can see, Kelly and I got kind of a late start on having kids. But we really dove in once we started! I'm entirely too old for all of the chaos -- as evidenced by my receding hairline -- but am having fun anyway. It's good to hear about everyone. Sorry I missed the reunion.

Here are some pictures from Tony Miell! His daughter, Katie, and his pooch, Cookie. Very pretty girls you have!

(Just received this from Sharon!! Yeah! Next time I see you, we get to have a beer! Not like at Janet's party where we were all having the time of our lives and you were Miss Pregnant Sober One!)
You are having way too much fun on a Saturday night!!!...in your jammies at 8:00? And I thought I was the only one who did that!!! You have been on the run, so a little down time probably feels good!

Loved the Homecoming pictures of your kids!!! Wow...are they ever cuties!

Not much exciting here...just trying to get adjusted to life with a newborn. Charlie is 8 weeks old now, so time for me to head back to work on Oct 2nd, and I'm not looking forward to it. Days at the pie factory versus home with Charlie...hmmm, lets see...actually I'm not sure which would be more work at this point, but I definitely know what is more rewarding! I'll take pay in smiles and coos anyday over cold hard cash!!

Better sign off and get some rest before it's time for the middle of the night feeding....yes, he is still not sleeping through the night....oh well... I am attaching a picture of me and the kids from last weekend at a fall festival in the Quad Cities!!

Have fun tomorrow night! I love reading all the emails and living vicariously through everyone else!
Sharon Covington-Kerns

(Here's an e-mail from Erin Burke I received tonight! Sooo great to hear from you! What a couple of handsome boys you have!!)

Carron,
Thanks for the email! I love reading all the entries! Everybody looks great and the family pictures are awesome! We are here and settled NW of Chicago. We moved here about a year ago. We miss Cincinnati and all our friends there but we love it here too. Our boys are settled and we all love being closer to family. I am attaching a picture of the boys. Will is 13 (yikes!) and Thomas is 8.

Take care and keep in touch!

Erin
TOM HATCHER'S BEAUTIFUL FAMILY!

(Here are some pics and an e-mail from Sharon Covington. Have you ever seen cuter kids? Oh, my gosh. How adorable.)

Hey, Carron,

Thanks for the greetings!!! Yes, I am busier than hell! Good grief...this is hard work!! Okay, here are the details: born July 25th at 11:09 am, weight 6 lb., 12 oz., length 19", name Charlie James Kerns. He is doing good. He is just starting to sleep through the night, so hopefully it is a trend that will continue. Rachel is being a good big sister, considering she is 3! :0)

Sharon
OK, here is an e-mail from Kath. I am sending it for two reasons. First of all, it just proves that Kathy is just about the sweetest thing I have ever encountered in my whole life. Secondly, it shows that she can actually talk more than (or equally as much as) I can. I had to post it to prove it!
Kath, I hope you got to see Jordan, Greg, Averi, Kate, and all the rest. You are so amazing. I also hope that when you had to "pull Rick away from all the fun", that you made some fun of your own!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)
Love ya, sister!
Sounds like Tony and Brian Z. had quite a little conversation going . "McNeillie" LOL!!!!!!
I'm a bit of a "party-pooper" on Friday nites. Poor Rick, I'm usually the one to pull him away from all the fun saying, "I gotta work tomorrow, so can we go now?" If it's a home football game and not raining, we'll go see Jordan play ball. They got beat pretty bad last week by Central of DeWitt.
This has been a long week. As you know, it's the homecoming season so my Saturdays book up full for that making my normal Saturday people go into the week somewhere for their appt. Tomorrow afternoon we are going to a wedding in New Hampton for his cousin, Greg. Sunday, Averi and Kate are back from school so we'll go see them at Jon's. I wish I could get some pics posted of them for the classmates. It's like they are my own kids anyhoo!:-).
Next Friday is Alburnett homecoming and Rick wants to go to that game. I think you might know he went to school there--Class of 1983. He (and the whole class) got a letter last May from a classmate of his asking if anyone wants to have a 25 year reunion? Well, the letter sat there until the beginning of August when I got a call at work from another classmate of his. Couldn't talk much cuz I'm with clients so I got home that night, told Rick, "You'll never guess who called me at work." So, then I called the one who actually sent the letter to him. We talked for 40 min. and we joked about how it's always the women who do all the organizing blah, blah, blah and so then I said, "Hey, let me get Rick on the phone with you." So anyway they talked for another 1/2 hour having a great time. I love it! He hasn't seen or heard from most of them in forever. They have only ever had a 10 yr. reunion. So Rick says to her, "Why don't we just get together now. Whoever can make it-great, then start making plans for a 25th." ANYWAY, Lisa (classmate) and Rick and a couple others decided to do a big get-together on the 30th in Center Point for some pow-wowing. So, we'll do that next weekend. Should be fun. Another of his classmates set up this site where you can go in and post comments, pics - whatever you want - similar to ours, but different. So, between our class and his class, the last few months have just been a ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then, the next weekend is Pumpkinfest--YEY! for our Friday nite together. Then the next weekend is Anamosa homecoming so it's "life-in-the-fast-lane" for a while for us. It's all good ;-)
What the heck are YOU doing tonite?
p.s./ The blog site is pretty cool!
Kathy

Carron,

Did you ever see this one? You look a little dazed somehow.
Note the Everclear bottle on the desk.

Tom

(You all know that since I am posting these most awful pics of myself that NOTHING is off limits for the rest of you, right?!)
Here's one from my 19th birthday - hence the beer - somewhere on the "Up with People" Bungum family road trip.
July 1982.

mmmmmm..... Old Milwaukee.....
Tom

OK,

Here's a better photo of Stephanie Seehusen since apparently she could only scan POSTAGE STAMPS last time.

This is from the High School band trip in June 1980 to the Black Hills in South Dakota.

Jim May on far left, Deb Wilcox in background, and ________ Ricklefs? to the right.

Tom H.

(P.S. That would be Robin Ricklefs, I believe.)
Here is a pic of Dan and Mary Jane's two kids, Morgan and Jon. Quite the handsome children, don't ya think? Can't expect much less coming from Dan and MJ.

Oh, yea, the poochies are Bayley and Dusty! Woof. Woof.

Two drunken bastards.
The one on the left had a perfect ACT score....or damn near.
The one on the right is some big-wig attorney.
Party on.

Here are some pictures of Lisa Harms' kids!

Lisa, your daughter looks just like you!

Ride 'em, cowboy.
Scott Weber's Torino.
Oh, the stories we could tell.....

I'm sorry, Tom.... I had to do it.

I know, I know. I'm a dead woman.

Perhaps Shipley and I can have a joint funeral to save money?!

I would prefer Diane to deliver my eulogy (because she will say nice things about me) and my hymn of choice would be "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun."

Your requests, Curt?

Hi Carron:

I am attaching the photo to this e-mail. I have visited the Blog and love it. I need to read the directions on how to add comments, etc. I will get around to that. I am going to take photos of the area and what we do here. I will get those added also. The photos you have posted are great. Enjoy the Pumpkin fest. It sounds like a lot of fun. We are looking forward to Ramadan here (not). I continue to receive e-mails from long lost pals. The photos of the car stimulated a number of folks to write. I really appreciate you passing those around.

E-mail and family pic from Brian Z. I am using all the restraint I have NOT to comment about the hair...........la, la, la..............

Your brother still looks 17. I was eating at the restaurant in Monty (early 80's) when his wedding party walked in. Maybe it was the rehearsal dinner. Got to say hello to him. I want to say I ran into Phil O that night too. I was home on leave during my early AF days. I see you live in Ely. Do you know any of the Sheely's? I think Mark was the Mayor down there awhile back. They are my 2nd cousins. The blog is perfect for what you are doing. The user group wouldn't take images. We want to use our sky miles this fall and possibly come up north. Won't make the punkin fest though. If I were formerly blond that would indeed be dangerous
Here are some pix from Stephanie Seehusen!! How great to hear from you!!!!!! Let's see... who do we have in the pictures? In the first one, I see Steph, Leann Fisher, Brenda (in front) and Barb Winders. In the middle, so I see Karen Jones, Linda Ehlers, Leann, and Lisa Harms? And, in the bottom picture, I can see Deb W. Am I close to being correct? GREAT family photo, Steph. Thanks for sending!!!!!!! :-)
Here is a joke and pic from Kathy A..... is she saying
men are pigs?????? It's just a question. Geez. Relax.

A married couple in their early 60s was out celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant. Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their table and said, "For being such an exemplary married couple and for being faithful to each other for all this time, I will grant you each a wish." "Oh, I want to travel around the world with my darling husband" said the wife. The fairy waved her magic wand and poof! - two tickets for the Queen Mary II luxury liner appeared in her hands. Then it was the husband's turn. He thought for a moment and said: "Well, this is all very romantic, but an opportunity like this will never come again. I'm sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger than me." The wife, and the fairy, were deeply disappointed, but a wish is a wish...So the fairy waved her magic wand and - poof! The husband became 92 years old. The moral of the story: Men who are ungrateful bastards should remember fairies are female.

Pictures from France, circa April, 1980. Looking damn good, aren't we? Good lord, Brenda, what's up with our hair?? Joel, diggin' the glasses. They resemble the ones I had in my 15th birthday party picture. Tom, what were you doing? Asking someone how to use your camera? Todd, yo, dude. And, you're some big corporate attorney now? Can you say blackmail??

Y'all have seen pictures of my beautiful children :-), so now I am posting a pic of my original family taken on September 14, 2006, when Brad was in town for the ISU/Iowa game. Mom and Dad both retired in 1999 and Brad lives in Denmark. (Yes, the country, not the town in Iowa.)

Y'all remember ANAD???
Here's an e-mail from Tony Miell and a picture of him taken at the reunion on July 22, 2006.

Carron,

Don't know if I'll see you online later tonight or not, but work has mellowed out a bunch in the last few hours...busy as hell earlier! Got all the e-mails (thanks again ;-)) and I signed into the blog page. It was not very evident how you were supposed to get logged in, but I figured it out. I set up a small profile like you did. Who knows? Maybe it will take off!!

If I don't see you on later, have a good night!

Tony

Kath, in the double-fisting picture, can you answer this simple question for me?
Here is a nice try at an explanation from Kath. (Ain't gonna cut it, girlfriend.)

Maybe I should have gone to confessional--oh I'm not Catholic!! Just kidding ;-) O.K. I can explain the double-fisting. You see, er, well, oh never mind!!!!! You just had to be there to appreciate-ha.
See you on the 6th!!!
Kathy
I was thinking maybe posting pictures like this one
might get people commenting.

Here we have:

Front row: Diane Norton, Carron Bungum, DeDe Cook
Middle row: Chris Catlett, Erin Burke, Mary Jane Brady
Back row: Joel Andreesen, Dave Cox, Dan Rushford

Circa April, 1978 - My 15th birthday party.
Anyone have any idea where we were? That brick wall in the background is NOT at my house.

Here we all are. Darcie, Tony, Kathy, Dave and me at the Chrome Horse on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006. We had a ball. Those beer bottles in front belong to the people at the next table. :-/

I am hoping this format might catch on and get going. It will be easier and everything will be all in one spot. Please continue to send pictures and I can post them here!!
