JOEL ANDREESEN!!
Send photos of your lovely wife and kid! (And yourself, of course.)
We know you're a big-ass attorney and all, so you can afford a digital camera. Hell, even I can afford a digital camera and I ain't no big-ass attorney.
Now, figuring out how to use the camera is another story. But, I managed and I ain't no big-ass attorney, so, dammit, go buy a camera and send photos, you big-ass attorney!
Hell, Hatcher is even dreaming about you. That is curious in itself, but I'll leave it alone....
Seriously, Joel, how is your "hunky" self doing? Fill us in. And, then send photos!
:-)

(Photo from Curt Shipley)

Here is a photo that I believe was taken at the University of Iowa, possibly during freshman year. The beer cans didn't look familiar. Upon close analysis of the photo, I determined that we were drinking Red, White and Blue. A quick Google search turned up the following review of this beer, which pretty much says it all:

"This stuff brings back the carefree college days when we'd scrounge for beer money in seat cushions and dirty clothes pockets.

This was the beer we'd buy when we didn't even have enough money for Milwaukee's Best.

It's basically fermented rice and corn (maybe just plain old sugar too) and a ton of co2. If there is any barley or hops it's not enough to matter. The key is to get it really cold and drink it really fast--- at least until you're drunk enough to be insensate.

One characteristic? Pale-- think diluted urine, fizzy, no body, tastes faintly like corn with metallic aftertaste. Light bodied to the extreme like carbonated water with 4% alcohol.

Drinkability? Yeah right, this stuff is for getting drunk when you have no money."

Hey, y'all ~

Not much news tonight, but after talking to and receiving e-mails from several people, I am thinking we are going to have ourselves a good crowd Friday night. I made a mental list and I am predicting about 20-25 classmates and maybe more I don't even know about. More than half are people who couldn't make the reunion, so it will be nice to see everyone!!!

Larry McGovern won two awards at the reunion. He won the "We Hardly Recognize You Anymore" award and the "You're Going To Be 100 Years Old When Your Kids Graduate" award. (We have classmates with younger children, but you had to be present to win!) Here is a picture from the reunion of Joel Andreesen, Dean Rickels, Larry and his daughter, me, Michelle Cass, and Diane Norton.

Kathy Alderdyce and Joel Andreesen
Winners of the "You're hotter/hunkier now than you were in high school" award at the reunion!
Wouldn't you think some high faluntin' attorney in Bakersfield could at least hold his "hunk" of Tootsie Roll upside right?
(This is it for today. I am hitting the golf course at 2:00, then a movie later. See you all on Wednesday.)

Pictures from France, circa April, 1980. Looking damn good, aren't we? Good lord, Brenda, what's up with our hair?? Joel, diggin' the glasses. They resemble the ones I had in my 15th birthday party picture. Tom, what were you doing? Asking someone how to use your camera? Todd, yo, dude. And, you're some big corporate attorney now? Can you say blackmail??

I was thinking maybe posting pictures like this one
might get people commenting.

Here we have:

Front row: Diane Norton, Carron Bungum, DeDe Cook
Middle row: Chris Catlett, Erin Burke, Mary Jane Brady
Back row: Joel Andreesen, Dave Cox, Dan Rushford

Circa April, 1978 - My 15th birthday party.
Anyone have any idea where we were? That brick wall in the background is NOT at my house.
