MOMMA'S BIRTHDAY

Don't freak out - it's really not January 12, 2006. It's April 4, 2008 and it's my momma's 68th birthday. We were out celebrating last night with the whole family and my man, Dan.

FINAL CROSS COUNTRY MEET

Wes has his final cross country meet of the season last Thursday night where he beat his personal best time. Also in attendance were Gma and Gpa Bungum.

HACKING & HAWKEYES

Friday was a day of golf followed by a day of tailgating and the game on Saturday.

My bro, Brad, was home from Denmark for the festivities!

REUNION

While out golfing yesterday with pops, we ran into several classmates' parents. Heck, we could have had a Class of 1981 Parents mini reunion.

We saw Kent's daddy, Kegs' poppa, Erin's momma, Maribeth's padre, and Pete.

I had my camera, but I never could gather them all up for one big photo. Here are some past photos of Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Terrell, and Mr. Bungum. Erin is a clone of her mom and Kegs is the spittin' image of his dad, so just use your imaginations.

A GOOD COUPLE DAYS FOR TONY

Tony got an early birthday gift from the future in-laws AND he won the cool glider/rocking chair in a raffle at the Ely Firemen's Breakfast that he, Ellyn, and the boyfriend, Josh, are sitting on. Lucky bastard. He should have bought me a lottery ticket. I want to retire, too.

Dad got his biopsy results back and they were all negative. So, that is great news. He still has his big surgery tomorrow to remove the masses that are giving him breathing problems. It will be about a five hour surgery. They have to make a huge incision, break his ribs, deflate his lung and remove the mass. This will entail about a 4-6 week recovery period. But, he is a tough old coot and he will be just fine. He has lots of love and prayers going his way thanks to his friends, family, and all of you! Thank you, once again, so much.

Here is a picture of my dad and Keith Terrell (Maribeth's dad).

They both wrote books and had a book signing at the Anamosa library yesterday.

My dad wrote an autobiography and Keith writes westerns!

I have a personal favor to ask of all my friends and classmates. My dad went to the doctor today for a chest x-ray. The doctors did not like what they saw. He is having a biopsy on Friday, but the doctors are thinking lung cancer. If this turns out to be true, he is already scheduled for surgery on November 16th. I make no assumptions on anyone's faith, but I would appreciate prayers to whatever power you believe in and good thoughts directed my dad's way.

I will let you know the results of his biopsy on Friday.

Y'all have seen pictures of my beautiful children :-), so now I am posting a pic of my original family taken on September 14, 2006, when Brad was in town for the ISU/Iowa game. Mom and Dad both retired in 1999 and Brad lives in Denmark. (Yes, the country, not the town in Iowa.)
