THE GIRL CHILD PLAYING TENNIS

Here's Ellyn playing in her last tennis meet this past Thursday. She finished the season strong by winning her last two meets. Ellyn is blessed with many wonderful, awesome qualities and talents, but athletics isn't one of them. She fully admits she "sucks", but she gives it her all anyway.

A GOOD COUPLE DAYS FOR TONY
Tony got an early birthday gift from the future in-laws AND he won the cool glider/rocking chair in a raffle at the Ely Firemen's Breakfast that he, Ellyn, and the boyfriend, Josh, are sitting on. Lucky bastard. He should have bought me a lottery ticket. I want to retire, too.

KEITH AND THE GIRLS

Carron,

Thanks for taking the time to call. I laughed out loud when I read your post on the blog:) Just be who you are and quit being paranoid about talking to or being around as you put it:) a "man of the cloth"!

Seriously, will try to connect if I make a trip in the Iowa direction this summer...Hope you have had a great holiday weekend,

Keith

PS: Attaching a recent pic of my family...dang, this means we are all getting "older" when my oldest will graduate this Friday from Sr. High.

MORE SIGNS OF SUMMER

These photos are from two weeks ago, but this past weekend, we spent a total of about 13 hours at the ball park. What we thought would be a single-elimination-be-home-in-two-hours tournament turned into Prairie playing in the championship game! We lost that game, but came home with 2nd place trophies! Here are photos of the girl child at bat and on 2nd base.
Like I alluded to in the Mother's Day posting --- y'all can't EVEN tell me you don't have photos of your kids doing all kinds of night- and weekend-occupying sports stuff because that's everyone's excuse why they are NOT sending me stuff. (I wrote to Hatcher's wife and had her threaten him with the couch if he didn't send photos. It worked, as you can see from below.)

DONELLE'S DADDY SAYS HI

Donelle scored big at the North Palm Beach Easter Egg hunt! Dad got the benefits of that one.

Nothing too wild planned for the summer months. We go up to Delaware this weekend for a wedding, doing some BBQing and swimming over Memorial Weekend, and planning a brief trip to Orlando in June to see Shamu at Seaworld. After that, it's "turn up the A/C" and enjoy the pool and beach for the rest of the summer.

Loved the photo of those crazy singing Lutheran kids.

STAY OFF THE SIDEWALKS

The boy child turned 16 yesterday. And he got his braces off. Dean and I own those teeth. They're worth approximately $230.77 each.

Dean's and my daughter, Ellyn, received three academic awards today at a ceremony at the high school. One for highest honors for having a cumulative 4.0 g.p.a., one for doing an Honors Science Project, and one for scoring highest on her ITED's (the high school equivalent of Basic Skills.)

Grandma and Grandpa are looking a little bummed. Perhaps it's because I disputed their theory that the kids' intellectual capabilities skipped a generation. :-)

Hi Carron,

Everyone here is doing great. We're extremely busy but who isn't!? We're leaving for Hawaii on Tuesday for a much needed vacation. We have never been there and we're looking forward to it. It will be nice getting away from this below zero wind chills that we're experiencing in Milwaukee. I'm sending a picture of Michael (1) and Elizabeth (2 1/2) from xmas. Have a good weekend.
