Darcie does good things.

Darcie's benefit was a huge success. She was also on the KCRG news this morning for the Toys for Tots benefit at Lindale Mall. Here's a photo from her benefit.

A few things....

A couple things......

First of all, I am still alive.

Secondly, I heard that our classmate, Tony Miell, is getting married on November 14th. Congratulations to Tony and his fiancee, Lori!

Also, there is a benefit for Darcie on Saturday, October 17th. I'll know more details soon.

I have connected with Brad Bieber and Jerald Tew via Facebook! Today is Jerry's birthday, by the way.

Finally... I know it's a ways off yet, but does anyone have any ideas for our 30th reunion? I'll do the work again unless someone else absolutely wants to... :-)

PRAYERS FOR TWO CLASSMATES

I know neither one of them would want me to do this, but I am doing it anyway.....

Stephanie Seehusen (Cross) and Darcie Cole (Luxa) need our prayers...

Steph is battling breast cancer and Darcie had a motorcycle accident. Please keep both of them in your thoughts and prayers in the coming weeks and months.

Love you both! :-)

I GOT A PHOTO

I did manage to get a photo of Darcie on her birthday last week. Her friend, Shannon, came along for the festivities.
She told me she was going straight home to bed that night because she was so full and tired. I later heard something about tequila..... I'm thinking she didn't go straight home....

DARCIE IS OLD

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DARCIE!!!
(I am meeting her for dinner at 6:30 and I will try to get a picture of her! Last time I tried, however, she threatened to shove my camera somewhere the sun don't shine, so don't hold your breath!)

ANOTHER GIRLS' NIGHT

Darcie, Mary Jo, and I had another girls' night last night. This time it was Mary Jo's turn to decide on the restaurant and God bless her for choosing Carlos O'Kelly's!!

I have no new pictures to share because both gals threatened me with bodily harm if I brought my "bleeping" camera. So, just to get even with them, I will post the same pic from our last girls' night out. Bahahahaha!

GIRLS' NIGHT

Darc, Mary Jo, and I had a girls' night tonight. We had cheesy fries, steak, and beer at Lone Star Steakhouse. We didn't laugh or have any fun at all.... Darcie told our waitress, HeyAshley, to shove my camera up my butt and then management came to our table. All sorts of craziness.

SURPRISE!!!

What Darcie thought was going to be a cozy dinner with just the two of us turned into a surprise party with about 20 friends!! I think she had a great birthday (and probably an even better night at home with all her "gifts"!!)

DARCIE'S RIDE

The rain stayed away for Darcie's ride yesterday. There was a good turn-out and, hopefully, lots of money was raised. Darc was going to crunch the numbers and let me know the total outcome!
(Update: Darc tallied the figures and the total raised was $1,964.00. Not bad for five hours of fun!!)

DARCIE'S CHRISTMAS FUNDRAISER
Darcie and her Chrome Divas held a fundraiser today for needy families in Cedar Rapids. It was a raving success, as usual. She does such good things.
I got to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what I wanted for Christmas. Since this is a family-oriented blogsite, I cannot tell you what I asked for.... :-/

BAKING AND BEVERAGES

After a long night of Darcie baking cupcakes and pumpkin bars and her making me decorate them, we decided we needed a cold beverage. We ran into some Anamosa people. Do you recognize them?

MOVING DAY FOR DARCIE
A bunch of us gathered together on Saturday to help Darcie move from her big, huge house into a townhouse which is going to be perfect for her. Less expense, less upkeep, and less room for the grown kids and grandkids!!! Love it.
In the process of moving, she managed to stub the same toe two times until the whole thing eventually just fell off. Good thing she's a nurse. She performed surgery on herself while the rest of us stood around gagging. Ick.

CHROME HORSE
I met Darcie tonight down at the Chrome Horse, a biker bar in Cedar Rapids (Brett, you would love this place), for a couple beers. We were celebrating. Darcie has her last day at her old job tomorrow and starts a new one on Monday. I just got offered a new job and I start on December 3rd. Life is good.
Below are some pics of Carla, who we ran into at the Chrome, a photo of a bike on the wall, and a pic of one of my bestest friends ever, Darrell (with the glasses.)
OK, here's a quiz.... The guy in the dark blue shirt? Whose son is he? His dad is a member of the class of 1980. His mom is our classmate.
So, here's the funny story that goes along with the quiz... I'm sitting there with Darrell and Darcie and Carla, and the guy in the dark blue shirt comes up to me and tells me that his buddy thinks I'm hot. Bahaha!!! Oh, God, it's hilarious just to type that. I haven't been told I'm hot since..........well, never.
Anyway, I look at the guy in the dark blue shirt and I ask him, "Don't I know you?" We figure out who we are and chat a bit.
OK, so back to his buddy.... I say, "I know about how about old you are, so your buddy cannot be that much older." He tells me his pal is 30 years old with two kids, ages 3 and 5. I proceed to tell the guy in the dark blue shirt to tell his buddy that I graduated with his (the guy in the dark blue shirt) mother. Needless to say, they all leave and that's the end of my being hot.
Oh, hell, what a riot.

DARCIE'S RIDE FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
Darcie and her group, the Chrome Divas, a national organization of female motorcycle enthusiasts, organized a benefit ride for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. On a beautiful October day, we all went from town to town raising money through raffles, donations, and auctions. After a mere six hours, the group raised $2,220!!

CLASSMATES EVERYWHERE
Darc and I met up to have a brew and watch Tony play in his pool league. At our first stop, we ran into Colleen and her hubby, Denny. We then moved on to stop #2 to listen to Darc sing some karaoke and we ran into Carla!!!
