THE CUTEST KIDS EVER
Hi, dear friend Carron.....
Do you suppose you could find a new picture of the week since I have had my nasty face posted there for, oh, about 5 weeks!!!!???? :0) I'm sure someone else would love to be honored and have their highly embarrassing mug on the front of our class blog...I served my time, let's give someone else their exposure...SILLY WOMAN!!!
Oh, yeah, and how are you? Everything is crazy as always at our house....I am attaching a couple of new pics of the kids for you.....some from trick or treat and some from the Halloween Parade! The picture of the boys are Dann, Charlie (obviously) and Dann's dad, Jim.
Stay warm!!!!

A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN GENESEO
Top left: Sharon and Tony
Top right: Todd, Carron, Sharon, and Tony
Middle left: Todd, Jen, Michael, and Elizabeth Schoon
Middle right: Todd, Brad, and Cris Schoon
Bottom left: Todd teeing off
The Schoon family had a beautiful day for Brad's benefit. There were tons of Anamosa people there for golf at noon and many more expected for dinner and the auction tonight. It was so wonderful to see Todd and Jen.
I would like to thank everyone who sent contributions to me, totaling $555.00, which I forwarded on to Brad's family. This is in addition to other classmates who donated directly to the bank in Geneseo, sponsored golf holes at the tournament, or donated items for the auction.
Todd wants me to greet everyone and to thank you all for your generosity and kindness.

SHARON IS SO STRONG...
Hi, Carron,

We are all doing as well as can be expected. It was quite a shock when David was killed. Last weekend was very long, but it's getting better. We were all at Mom and Dad's today writing out thank you notes. It seems strange when we get together and someone is missing.

On a brighter note, yes, I am ready to hang and have a good time on the 25th. I still need to arrange for childcare, but I doubt that will be a problem.

I found out today my nephew, Doug's oldest son, is going to be deployed to Baghdad on Oct 24th, from Ft. Campbell, KY. Not what I wanted to hear, but not much anyone can do about it. He is stoked and ready to go, so I guess that is what is important...

Can't wait to see you and catch up on everything!!

Thank you for thinking of me.

Sharon

MORE BAD NEWS

Sharon Covington's oldest brother, David, was killed in a car accident Thursday night.

His obituary is in the Quad City Times today. I believe it will also be in the CR Gazette and Anamosa paper later in the week.

Obviously, her entire family is in shock right now. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

(Thanks to Diane Norton for the info...)

SHARON WILL BE HOME IN AUGUST

Carron,

I am planning to come home for Scott's party in August. I think Dann has opted to stay home with the kids...I think us wild girls scare him in his old age!!!! Fine with me!

Hey, have a great time at Tony's birthday party!!!

Charlie is starting to walk all over now.. It is sooo funny to see. Brings tears to my eyes!! He will be one on the 25th, so I guess it is time! Rachel is doing good, sassy as ever! I will send you some new pictures. '

See you in August!

PICTURES FROM SHARON COVINGTON

Hey, the party for Scott in August sounds like a great idea! I jumped on the blog today to see what is going on with everyone.
We just got back from Padre Island on a little family vacation. The weather was great and we stayed in condos right on the beach! TOO MUCH FUN! We were with Dann's family, and we had a great time..the kids were good...Rachel LOVED the ocean. It was just nice to be oceanside for a week and walk on the warm sandy beach. I have attached a couple of pictures,,,really I did!!! If you don't get those, then I do give up!!! :0)

(Poor Sharon. Let's all share our potty training advice with her. Diane and I promised her that Rachel will NOT go to kindergarten in diapers.)

Thanks, Carron.

Rachel is really being a little shit right now!! She refuses to get potty trained and we are soooo frustrated... and tired of changing shitty diapers on 2 kids!!!! She is sooo strong willed and extremely stubborn, and getting very sassy. Not even the threat of Santa not coming works...she could care less, so long as she doesn't have to go on the potty. We have tried putting her in big girl panties all day and then she holds it ALL DAY LONG. Can you imagine being that stubborn??? (Um, Sharon, do you really want me to answer this?) ERRHHHHH...this too shall pass, but until it does I'm gonna need a lot of wine and prozac! :0)

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Oh, dear GOD!!!!! I will pray for you and your teen boy! I dread this....... :o) It's gotta be tough being a mom to teens these days.....Hang in there, woman!

I am going to send you some $$$ for "the" package also. Another great idea from the class of '81 led by the most caring person in the world! Good job, Carron! Have fun shopping!

Love ya, woman!

Thought you could use something funny to post on the blog.

Pay backs are hell, so God only knows what Sharon will retaliate with!!

For all of you who thought Ms. Covington was sweet and innocent in high school!!! This picture was taken in October of 1981, WEEKS after she left Anamosa for college life!

(Some thoughts Sharon Covington sent to me and wanted me to share....)
As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will.
You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time.
You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.
You'll fight with your best friend.
You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.
You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love.
So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

(Just received this from Sharon!! Yeah! Next time I see you, we get to have a beer! Not like at Janet's party where we were all having the time of our lives and you were Miss Pregnant Sober One!)
You are having way too much fun on a Saturday night!!!...in your jammies at 8:00? And I thought I was the only one who did that!!! You have been on the run, so a little down time probably feels good!

Loved the Homecoming pictures of your kids!!! Wow...are they ever cuties!

Not much exciting here...just trying to get adjusted to life with a newborn. Charlie is 8 weeks old now, so time for me to head back to work on Oct 2nd, and I'm not looking forward to it. Days at the pie factory versus home with Charlie...hmmm, lets see...actually I'm not sure which would be more work at this point, but I definitely know what is more rewarding! I'll take pay in smiles and coos anyday over cold hard cash!!

Better sign off and get some rest before it's time for the middle of the night feeding....yes, he is still not sleeping through the night....oh well... I am attaching a picture of me and the kids from last weekend at a fall festival in the Quad Cities!!

Have fun tomorrow night! I love reading all the emails and living vicariously through everyone else!

(Here are some pics and an e-mail from Sharon Covington. Have you ever seen cuter kids? Oh, my gosh. How adorable.)

Hey, Carron,

Thanks for the greetings!!! Yes, I am busier than hell! Good grief...this is hard work!! Okay, here are the details: born July 25th at 11:09 am, weight 6 lb., 12 oz., length 19", name Charlie James Kerns. He is doing good. He is just starting to sleep through the night, so hopefully it is a trend that will continue. Rachel is being a good big sister, considering she is 3! :0)
