QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
What is the most trouble you ever got into in high school? What did you do? Who else was involved? How did Hugh handle it?

    never, EVER got in trouble in HS ;-)! But right after we graduated I was off and running!! Met Jim French (!) down at the Town Tap (now Knuckleheads). He'd never played pool, so I offered to teach him...while we were playing, Curt Pudil, Kevin First (Byron's little brother), Randy Lewis (I think), and some other kid came in to play pool and slapped a bunch of quarters on the table. They wanted to play doubles so I took Jim as my partner. After 3 games of basically me kicking their butts, and with me only having 2 balls left to make it 4 games, Curt decided to slap the back of my cue while I was shooting to throw me off! The first time he did it, I just looked back at him; the second time he did it (this time my cue hit the cueball and they claimed I'd missed so it was their shot), I put the balls back where they'd been and said that if he did that again I was going to wrap my stick around his head; and when he did it again, I followed through with my threat! I think he got about 17 stitches... His buddies hauled him off to the hospital, and Jim and I went home. Later on, weird stuff started to happen to me. People would throw rocks at my car as I drove downtown... One day, Bill Beisell and I were playing tennis at the court across from the Riverside Cemetary when we heard a biker gang come down through town. As they came past, they all pulled off at the tennis court and circled around it. About 15 of them. They got off and started pulling out baseball bats and chains and stuff and said that I'd messed up their friend Curt and it was time to pay for it!! Holy crap!!!! (rumor had it that Curt was involved with drugs in town)Fortunately for us, there was a cop up in the bushes on our side of the Wapsi bridge doing a speed trap...when I pointed that out, they said, "your time is coming" and took off! I layed really low until July when I headed off for the Air Force!!

    I honestly never got in trouble IN school nor did I ever have to deal with Hugh, but I had to deal with PETE and that was worse....

    Was at a party at Beisell's one night with Jim May, Scott Ehlts, and Carlene Pinney. We left there to go "scoop the loop" on a snowy night. Put the car in the ditch by the football field. I did a complete 360. Had to walk home, wake up Dad, and tell him what I had done. He called Paul Pinney, they got chains and pulled out the car. Carlene and I swore up and down that we had NOT been drinking, which we honestly had not been doing. Scott and Jim had been, though, and Dad found an empty beer can in the backseat of the car that one of the guys left behind.

    Ever seen Pete pissed? It ain't pretty.

    I got into hot water several times in mischief with John Jensen. Most memorable was getting caught stealing Mr Pinny's "History Money". A few days detention for that.

    I remember going to many concerts at the "Five Seasons" with "the girls". One night we decided to crash at Barbie's brother's place at Coe. Needless to say, a school night was NOT a good choice on our part. Barbie's dad wanted to make sure we didn't try that again! He informed the school that some "hookey" playing going on, and that he did not approve of it. We were suspended.
