QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
When you were in high school and you thought about what you "wanted to be when you grew up...?"
Are you doing what you wanted to do? Have you become what you wanted to be?

  1. I'll start.....

No, I am not "what I wanted to be." I wanted to be a teacher. Specifically, a French and History teacher. But, I am now tutoring and working with students at a college level, so I guess, in a way, my dream has come true, because I do entirely love my job.

  2. When I was in High School I wasn't sure what I wanted to go to college for.
I remember reading WHAT, and WHERE, the people in the class, (one or two years) ahead of us were planning to do after high school.
I think it was Erin Daley who had planned to go to college for CHILD DEVELOPMENT. I liked that idea because I loved kids and thought "child development" would be a FUN career, and, very helpful when the time came to have kids!
I am proud to say that I have done both! I had been an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher/Consultant for 20 years, a substitute teacher for the past couple of years; and a parent for almost 16 years!!! I love it!!

  5. Hey there WORTHY WOMAN!
In a sense you DID meet your "dream" goal of being a French & History Teacher! Read on my dear friend, read on!
    Ms Carron,
You HAVE taught at least one lesson in HISTORY that included FRANCE!
You have taken approximately 40 years of HISTORY (?1968-2006), combined it first-hand knowledge of France, "to teach" that no matter what the era or the country, communication has been essential in the past (snail mail, telephone) and continues to be even more so today (e-mail, cell phones, blogging....).
In OBSERVATION of your teaching strategies Ms. Carron, it is clearly evident that you are a very SUCCESSFUL, WORTHY WOMAN TEACHER! Look at the number of "students" who are having a wacky, wild, and wonderful time "reliving" history, talking about France, and CONTINUING to "gather together" to learn MORE about the past 25 years!!!
WOW WOMAN, YOU GOT IT GOIN' ON!!!
